Chance, Coincidence, and Serendipity
So…I’ve been weighing, as I figure out who I am these days, I’ve been wondering how this website will evolve, and how much it will be a rehash of my old identity and how much a promotional site, and how personal. But already, it seems fortune is blending this all.
So…Blair and I have settled into the house with Nick, Carey, Isaiah, Anthony and Sam, and we realized we’d been there long enough we should have had a housewarming party by now, so set the convenient but somewhat arbitrary date of Nov. 8. While there is no theme to the party, I decide that since we have an outdoor fireplace and I have too much clutter, I’d ceremoniously burn the signs I brought to the George W. Bush Inauguration protest if Obama won. (I’d keep them as a legacy if McCain ‘won’.)
So…Obama wins, there is partying in the streets of Portland, and the next day I go out shopping and buy about $100 of food. I come home to read an email from Credo, my nonprofit fundraiser cell phone company, saying the first 1000 “end of the Bush era” parties to register would get up to a $100 credit for party supplies! (Apparently, I just needed 10 people to RSVP online to prove I had the party.)
So…then, I get an invite from a local art group who happened upon a bunch of barrels and was going to do a free Burn Barrel workshop on Saturday- so instead of cramming the signs into an outdoor fireplace, we could do it with style!
More details soon as I collect photos and get the youtube video of the special “happening” of the barrel workshop…
